GSTC Annual Meeting & Destination Workshop

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) would like to extend an invitation to ESTC14 attendees and GSTC members to participate in the GSTC Annual Meeting and Destination Partnerships Workshop.  

The GSTC Annual Meeting, Friday April 25th and the Destination Partnership Workshop on Saturday April 26th.  
Both events give individuals the opportunity to learn more about GSTC and the groundbreaking work this organization has done.  This includes learning more about destinations from around the world that have committed to adopting sustainable practices. These events also allow GSTC Members to participate and showcase their sustainable tourism efforts.    

Authentic Ecolodge Planning & Design Workshop

To develop an authentic ecolodge takes vision, skill and planning. To help facilitate a better understanding of what makes an authentic ecolodge, this workshop focuses on key aspects of planning and designing an authentic ecolodge: the site selection criteria, physical and social feasibility and analysis, site planning, building design and construction.

Travelife Training Seminar: Sustainability for Tour Operators

Sustainability is both integral and essential to the future success of
any business. During this one-day training seminar you will gain practical insights into sustainability practices for tourism businesses: what's in it for you and how can your business benefit from implementing sustainability practices? Learn from best practice examples, and find out how to meet the requirements and expectations of international buyers in terms of environmental and social sustainability practices, and generate more quality business.

Crisis Management Workshop

Learn how to create and develop a Tourism Area Response Network (TARN). Participants in a two-day TARN workshop will come away with greater education to aid in the creation of a workable sustainable tourism destination which is responsive to any tourism crisis. The workshop will obligate small businesses to think about evacuation routes, communication techniques, availability of technology to receive warnings, etc.

The desired outcome of the TARN Workshop is to increase dialogue between public and private sectors to foster stronger democratic processes and the develop responses.

Join TIES at ITB Berlin

If you are heading to ITB in Berlin, make sure you swing by the Adventure Travel Trade Associations`(ATTA)  booth and meet Gabi Assis.  She is the TIES` representative who is also working hard on ESTC14 (April 27-30) in beautiful Bonito, Brazil! Also be sure to join this year`s AdventureConnect, March 5, 2014 event during ITB-Berlin 2014, made possible with the support of ATTA partner, ITB-Messe Berlin. It will take place in Hall 4.1.b Adventure Travel, Responsible Tourism and attendees of the show are all invited to participate.  To top it off, we also encourage you to participate in CSR day(Corporate Social Responsibility Day) in the Main Congress on Friday, 7 March, where ATTA President Shannon Stowell will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the second consecutive year.
