ESTC15 Quito Ecuador

2015 Conference

In partnership with the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador, ESTC15 was attended by over 500 ecotourism professionals in Quito Ecuador. The conference was held from April 27 - 30th, 2015 at the Palacio Cristal in Itchimbia. Keynote speakers included the Minister of Tourism of Ecuador, Sandra Naranjo, and Dr. Jeff Parrish of the World Wildlife Fund.

2014 Conference

 

The entire town of Bonito extended a grand welcome to over 500 ecotourism industry professionals as they hosted ESTC14.  The Bonito Convention Center was the conference venue for ESTC14 which was hosted by EMBRATUR, Fundação de Turismo, Mato Grosso do Sul  , Bonito City Hall, and Bonito CVB from April 27 - 30, 2014.

2013 Conference

 

Co-hosted by the African Wildlife Foundation and the Kenya Tourism Board, the ESTC13 was held September 24 - 27 in Nairobi, Kenya at the Safari Park Hotel.  In attendance were over 300 industry professionals representing over 50 countries around the world.  Kenya is the birthplace of ecotourism and community involvement in conservation practices was a recurring theme throughout the conference.

2012 Conference

2012 Conference

Co-hosted by Visit California and the Monterey County Convention and Visitor Bureau, the ESTC12 was held in Monterey, CA, and were attended by industry professionals from over 40 countries. TIES new book "Sustainable Tourism & the Millennium Development Goals" was launched, and the "International Voluntourism Guidelines" unveiled at the conference.

2011 Conference

2011 Conference

Co-hosted by Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Convention Bureau, the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference 2011 (ESTC11) was held from September 19-21, 2011 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA, a leading family-friendly destination,and one of the first environmentally-sensitive planned communities in the US.

ESTC 2010

2010 Conference

Co-hosted by Travel Portland and Travel Oregon, the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference 2010 (ESTC10) was held from September 8-10, 2010 in Portland, Oregon, a leading U.S. city that has been consistently rated “the most sustainable city” in the country.

ESTC 2008

2008 Conference

Co-hosted by the British Columbia Ministry of Tourism, Sport and the Arts, the Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference 2008 (ESTC08) was held in October 2008 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and was attended by 400+ sustainable tourism professionals from over 40 states and provinces in the US and Canada, and 26 countries.

NAEC 2007

2007 Conference

Co-hosted by Greater Madison CVB and the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, the North American Ecotourism Conference 2007 was held in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, in September 2007. The conference highlighted the importance of ecotourism in ensuring the financial, as well as social and environmental sustainability of tourism in North America.

2005 Conference

Co-hosted by Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce, the first-ever Ecotourism in the US Conference was held in September 2005 in Bar Harbor, Maine, USA. The conference brought together industry professionals from various sectors.
