Book Launch: Tourism & the MDGs
About the Book
The new publication "Sustainable Tourism & The Millennium Development Goals: Effecting Positive Change" demonstrates how sustainable tourism can assist in supporting and meeting the goals set forward by the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, achieve universal primary education, promote gender equity and empower women, reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases, ensure environmental sustainability and develop a global partnership for development.
The MDGs are the world's time-bound and quantified targets for addressing extreme poverty in its many dimensions, while promoting gender equality, education, and environmental sustainability.
