Become a Volunteer at the 2008 ESTC!

Thank you for expressing interest in becoming a volunteer for the ESTC 2008. We are no longer accepting applications for this opportunity.

Final decisions for selected volunteers are expected to be determined by August 22nd, 2008.

Qualities of ideal volunteers:

  • Self-motivated.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Team player.
  • Industry and event planning experience preferred.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Desire to contribute to the ecotourism industry.

Volunteers are expected to:

  • Arrange transportation to and from the conference venue.
  • Be financially responsible for accommodations and all meals not included in the conference program.
  • Attending the volunteer orientation session on Sunday, October 26th, 2008.
  • Work three to eight hours at the conference per day.
  • Show up on time and dressed appropriately for all scheduled shifts.
  • Behave professionally at all times.

Volunteers will receive:

  • A conference T-shirt.
  • Some meals will also be provided.

Each volunteer will wear the conference T-shirt and will be therefore visible to conference attendees. Volunteers will help with registration, overseeing that the needs of the speakers are met and sessions operate smoothly, book sales, workshop hosting, directing conference foot traffic, screening entrance into sessions & receptions, observing proper recycling, assisting with the set-up and break down of rooms and exhibits, and being able to assist conference participants with directions and accurate information.
